Game data
We store a game session identifier, episode version, progress, discovered clues, choices, conversation history and timestamps. Your browser stores references to saved cases and preferences so you can return to a game. We also record gameplay events, such as progress, question types, time spent and outcomes, to understand how the game is used and diagnose problems.
Text you submit to characters and relevant conversation context are sent to OpenAI to generate replies. Character speech text is sent to ElevenLabs to generate audio. Generated audio may be cached. These features do not need you to provide your real name or other personal details. Please do not type sensitive information about yourself or others.
Website, device and support information
Hosting and security services process connection information, which may include your IP address, request time, browser and device information. Local performance diagnostics record loading timings in your browser. If you email us, we receive your address, message and any information you include.
Analytics, advertising and browser storage
The website uses Google Analytics to measure traffic and engagement, and the Meta Pixel to measure advertising activity. These providers may receive page visits, browser or device identifiers, IP addresses and referral information, and may use cookies or similar technologies. These integrations currently load automatically on the pages where they are enabled; the site does not yet provide an on-site cookie preference control.
Browser settings can block or remove cookies and site storage, although doing so may prevent saved progress from being recovered. Removing local storage does not by itself delete server-held game records.
Payments and sign-in
Live payments are not enabled. The private sandbox test stores order and transaction references and payment status, not full card details. When live checkout becomes available, Paddle will process payments as merchant of record under its own privacy notice. We will update this notice for the customer purchase and recovery flow before launch.
Owner-only tools use ChatGPT sign-in, which provides a user identifier, email and basic profile information to check access. Ordinary free play does not require this sign-in.
Why information is used
Game state and conversation processing are needed to provide the interactive service you request. Security, troubleshooting, support and first-party usage analysis serve our legitimate interests in operating and improving the game, subject to your rights. Legal obligations may require us to retain certain records. Where consent is legally required for optional tracking, that requirement is separate from accepting these terms or reading this notice.
Providers and international processing
Service providers include OpenAI and Cloudflare for hosting and infrastructure, OpenAI for generated dialogue and sign-in, ElevenLabs for speech, Google for analytics, Meta for advertising measurement, and Paddle for payment testing and future checkout. They may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Their applicable data-processing terms and transfer arrangements govern that processing. Contact us for information about the arrangements applicable to your data.
How long records remain
Saved cases and conversation history currently have no automatic expiry and remain on our servers until removed. We use them to support saved progress and investigate game problems. You may request deletion. Support and technical records are kept as needed to resolve the issue or meet applicable legal requirements. Browser records remain until cleared or, for session-only data, until the browser session ends. External providers apply their own retention arrangements.
Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your personal data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Contact hi@wholiedgame.com. We may need enough information to locate your game record and verify the request. Do not send passwords or payment card details.
You may also complain to your local data protection authority. The game’s AI controls fictional dialogue and does not make decisions about employment, credit or similar real-world eligibility.
Updates
